The Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation (SEOF) is delighted to warmly welcome the VOOM Foundation team for the October–November 2025 Four-Week Medical Mission, a continuing partnership between both organizations dedicated to saving lives and transforming healthcare access in Nigeria.

The Foundation, ably led by Sir Emeka Okwuosa, a 1982 graduate of the University of Ife where he studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering, has long exemplified vision-driven philanthropy. The Orifite-born Group Chief Executive Officer of the Oilserv Group has been involved in humanitarian work since the 1990s and took a decisive step in 2011 to formalize his passion for service through the establishment of the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation.
Its focus areas — Education, Healthcare, and Socio-Economic Empowerment — continue to create meaningful impact across communities in Nigeria and beyond.

From October 8th to November 2nd, 2025, a distinguished team of professionals from the United States, Argentina, Bangladesh, Ghana, and Ethiopia, across both medical and non-medical fields, will collaborate with Nigerian specialists to perform open-heart surgeries and interventional cardiology procedures at the Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital, Orifite.

This initiative represents far more than medicine — it is hope in action, a vivid expression of compassion, collaboration, and global solidarity in service of humanity.

Now in its 7th edition, the partnership between SEOF and the VOOM Foundation (Vincent Obioma Ohaju Memorial Foundation) — led by Dr. Vincent Ohaju — has built on nearly two decades of medical missions since 2004. Together, they have achieved outstanding milestones:

Each of these successes stands as a powerful testament to what is possible when vision meets compassion and when global expertise merges with local commitment to advance healthcare.

Beyond healthcare, this ongoing mission is also opening a new frontier for health tourism in Orifite and Anambra State. As patients, families, and international volunteers travel to the community, they are discovering the town’s warm hospitality, rich cultural heritage, and serene environment. The presence of high-level medical missions not only enhances confidence in Nigeria’s healthcare capabilities but also positions Orifite as an emerging destination for medical and cultural tourism.

What began as a bold healthcare initiative is steadily evolving into a catalyst for economic activity, cultural exchange, and destination development, proving that healing and tourism can coexist in powerful synergy.

The Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to bring advanced medical care closer to home, while simultaneously showcasing Orifite as a beacon of excellence in healthcare, hospitality, and hope.
